A superbly made Britannia grade silver tobacco box made in the Georgian style. Being made from the higher grade silver it has a beautiful deep shine and a silky feel to the touch. The box was made to celebrate the coronation of George VI, this was the year that Edward III abdicated the throne leaving his brother to take the reign.
It is fully hallmarked Britannia Grade silver, 1936 London.
The makers mark is of The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company.
It is in an excellent condition being free from any repairs, damage or denting.
The lid fits securely and flush.
