Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Attractive brass hinges and handles complete the refined look. The panels, styled in a Greek or Pompeian manner, resemble a series of drawings published in The Building News on December 1st, 1876, which were later turned into painted glass for a billiard room in a distinguished home on Streatham Hill, London.

The base section features four square, reeded legs, joined by an arched stretcher that introduces an architectural element, standing on a lower shelf that offers additional storage. The piece rests on finely carved bracket feet. The item splits in two for easier transportation. With its working lock and key, this versatile and beautifully crafted cabinet would make an excellent drinks cabinet or a stylish display piece for various settings.
