An exquisite antique Victorian emerald bracelet made up of fabulous 18ct gold open-work links highlighted in a bright white enamel with emerald-green polka dots. The main gallery is further decorated with a cluster of natural green step-cut emeralds in the centre with hinged shoulders on each side, set with two deeper green emeralds (approx. 2.3ct total).
Emerald is the birthstone of May. The Romans considered it to be the sacred stone of the goddess Venus and was said to preserve love and provide hope. Its natural green colouring also makes it a stone of springtime and is associated with eternal love and faithfulness.
It’s a wonderful antique bracelet, all in excellent condition and held by a secure box clasp and safety chain at the end. It dates to the late 19th Century and is accompanied by an antique brown leatherette box to store it in, signed “Primavesi Bros” under the lid.
We recommend you insure for £5,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
