Here we are very pleased to offer you a George II walnut tallboy with Sunburst.
This wonderful tallboy/ chest on chest was made circa 1725. This superb tallboy was purchased from a fine and important home near the River Test.
The George II walnut tallboy is made in 2 sections, this allows easy transportation to and around your home.
The top half is fitted with 3 drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers under. All the drawers are cross-banded and with herringbone inlay, and then the striking period pierced brass handles.
It has canted corners with fine fluting.
The base section is fitted the brushing slide, where a gentleman would have his valet press his clothes before wearing. This slide pulls out using the axe head brass pulls.
It also is fitted 3 graduated drawers, the bottom drawer with the magnificent sunburst inlay, a most desirable feature. An inlaid sunburst is rare and gives a tallboy a with this special feature an extra desirability.
It stands on straight bracket feet.
