Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency toilet mirror, also known as a dressing glass, is a tabletop mirror designed in early 19th-century Britain, featuring an adjustable swinging mirror mounted above a small chest of drawers or plinth base.

These mirrors were primarily constructed from flame mahogany, rosewood, or satinwood veneers, combined with hand-cut dovetail drawer joinery, brass friction adjusters, and mercury-backed glass plates.

Authentic Regency pieces typically feature reeded columns, turned bun feet, bow-front or serpentine bases, original brass mounting knobs, and natural age markings or foxing on the glass mirror plate.

An antique toilet mirror can be positioned on top of a contemporary chest of drawers, a hallway console table, or a dressing table to serve as a functional focal point blending historical detail with modern decor.

Dust the wooden frame regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply a beeswax polish annually, while avoiding harsh liquid chemical cleaners on the original mirror glass.
