A very tactile, well made and pleasing in the hand late Victorian silver bowl made in the form of what is often referred to as a bleeding bowl. I have also heard of this style being referred to as a porringer from our friends across the Atlantic. It has been made from a generous gauge of silver which gives it a good solid feel and a lovely deep shine.
Fully hallmarked Sterling Silver, 1891 London.
Makers mark of F B Thomas & Co Ltd.
Excellent condition with no damage, repairs or inscriptions.
Some light surface wear as expected for its age.
2 very shallow bruises around the vase that are noticeable on a close inspection.
230 grams.
13.2cm diameter.
4cm height.
A high quality and usable sterling silver bowl that would be perfect for handing around when full of sweets or such like.
