19th Century Giltwood Framed Triple Overmantel Mirror
A striking mid-19thC overmantel mirror in the Regency style, distinctive for its bold decorative carving and in good condition, with a giltwood frame that has thumb- and projecting bead-moulding, strongly modelled applied motifs of stylised leaves & flower heads, ebonised & reeded slip-frames, the sides with projecting square bases resting on white ceramic bun feet, this terrific piece will impress in the most elegant of interiors, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.
NB: There are small brass brackets to the sides which would have held candle holders for lighting but these may easily be removed.
O/All Width 133cm x Height 65.5cm (c52.5'' x c25.75'') & Depth 55cm (c2.25'')
O/All Depth at Base 7.75cm (c3'')
This mirror probably dates from around the mid-19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina of age together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use, including some movement of the mirror glass within its frame but, other than needing a light clean, it''s in good, sound condition and is ready to take its place in your home.
