An exceptional 18th-century German or Austrian walnut and fruitwood commode, of elegant bombe form, richly decorated with finely executed marquetry.

The drawer fronts are inlaid with interlocking C-scroll motifs, framed within geometric reserves, displaying a sophisticated contrast between warm walnut and lighter fruitwood veneers. The top features a central panel with similar scrolling ornament, demonstrating a cohesive decorative scheme typical of Southern German and Austrian cabinetmaking of the mid to late 18th century.
