Beautiful pair of very large late 19th century Tibetan bronze temple lions/Foo dogs,c1880. I have owned many of these over the years and these are by far the best. Standing at 2 feet tall and weighing around 35kgs (I cannot fit them on my scales/they are too heavy) these are highly impressive and decorative pieces. The casting is very fine with lovely detail to the features, mane, claws etc with key facets highlighted in gilt. The bronze has aged well and taken on a lovely deep rich colour.
