This historical important alm dish is engraved with the text: For The Waster Gray Frieirs Kirk 1722, indistinctly stamped for the Pewterer Thomas Inglis Edinburgh 1686-1732
 
This dish is made for the opening of the new part of the church which opened in 1722.
 
A similar dish is in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland and stamped for John Shorey II London 1708-1732 and a third dish is in the collection of the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, in the Neish collection and has no Pewterer stamps.
 
In very good original condition with beautiful original old patination no cracks or repairs
