A fantastic completely original bookcase.

We are delighted to bring to you one of the finest examples of a Edwardian (circa 1895) bookcase cabinet, ideal for housing a large collection of books with a period theme. The cabinet is made from Mahogany, is completely original and unusually, wears its original hand floated glass to both doors.

The cabinet is ideal for large hallways, studies or drawing rooms offering immense storage space considering its fairly small footprint. One feature we like is that this cabinet still has its original working brass lever locks with its original keys.

This elegant cabinet is in an outstanding condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded French polished finish with lovely patina a great lightly faded Mahogany colour which would blend well with both Walnut and Mahogany themed tones. This cabinet features 2 glazed bookshelf doors above its 2 moulded front drawers to its lovely fielded moulded panelled doors. The cabinet is flanked by carved corbels either side to both the top and lower and the cabinet features its original high quality plate brass dropper handles throughout. The cabinet has 3 adjustable shelves to the cabinet top, a removable shelf in the base and is clean inside. The finely dovetailed solid Mahogany drawers are smoothly operating and are clean inside. We have just carefully cleaned and waxed this cabinet, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece. Also note, this piece comes apart into 3 sections for transport.
