A remarkable George II red walnut gentleman''s library/collectors cabinet; rare diminutive proportions; the well patinated rectangular top with a moulded edge having the unusual feature of the date ''AP.21.1756'' inlaid in brass. The well figured panelled doors having original very rare 4-pin lock and key. The well fitted interior having a row of pigeon holes with small drawers below having a central arched recess flanked by concealed drawers with classical columns; above the one remaining slide having 106 slots for coins or medals. Having five long drawers below with pierced brass handles and oak drawer linings. The base section with one long drawer and four short drawers flanking the central recess cupboard with a concealed drawer above. Raised on shaped original bracket feet having small carved scrolled ears. A rare piece of C18th furniture of unusually small proportions in original condition having a good colour and patina. Quite possibly from Chippendale''s workshop or at least one the renowned St Paul''s Churchyard makers.
