A charming early 20th century oil on board depicting chickens in a barn by a follower Edgar Hunt (British, 1876-1953). The initials ''I. E'' can be seen upon the hung pail but there is of the course the possibility that these may simply be highlights incidentally replicating letters; the artist''s intention can only be speculated.
The work itself is well painted with each chicken confidently depicted, being of wonderful form and colour. There is an excellent use of light throughout the work. Housed in a period gilt frame.
