Superb Grandfather / long case mahogany clock in wonderful antique condition from the wonderful Victorian era by H Butterworth. The eight day movement is housed in a stunning hood with swan neck pediment and barley twist columns flanking an arched glass door. The superb quality face having a wonderful arched hand painted moon roller showing fazes of the moon and date. The 16'' dial has female figures representing the four seasons in each corner and a scene depicting '' Death of Richard III'' in the centre. The face has a cream chapter ring has black painted roman numerals, an additional dial for seconds and decorative embossed brass hands. The case has a beautifully shaped door flanked by 2 more barley twist columns and covered in amazing flame mahogany veneers with crossbanded decoration. Like all antiques there imperfections however this is a striking looking clock with wonderful warm colouring and amazing patina. This is an outstanding antique clock and a true statement piece.A...
