A highly desirable matched pair of nicely sized batchelor chests with very appealing flamed veneer.
This unusual and rare pairing are in good antique order.
They are not without the expected signs of age such as chipped drawer edges and areas of light damage to the veneer where the pieces have been knocked or bumped.
In all the important areas they are complete, correct including the flap tops which are free of warp and stunningly veneered. The pair are certainly ready to be used and are clean throughout and all the drawers are oak lined, strong and free running.
The styling is classic with the chests riding upon bracket feet. The flap tops reveal staggeringly lovely veneering.
Overall a very rare pair which offer a tremendous opportunity either to use as they are or be the subject of light restoration.
