-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-
A superb quality early Victorian Rosewood and walnut tea / side table.
Circa 1850.
Originally used in the Victorian era as the name suggests as a table to serve tea. Has a variety of uses for modern day living. The beautifully figured rectangular rosewood top swivels open to reveal a storage compartment, which then lifts and opens out to double in size. Could be used closed as an elegant side hall table. Great for playing cards or games. Extra space for dining if needed. Or for its original use of serving tea.
The carving to this high quality table is particularly lovely, having an ornate and finely scroll carved frieze, supported by a boldly carved baluster shaped pedestal, ending with the most exquisite scroll carved feet, and original brass castors.
Lovely rich, warm, colour and patina to the wood.
In excellent antique condition.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
