A beautiful original gilt bronze antique French clock in the neoclassical style of Louis XVI. Architecturally designed and profusely decorated with acanthus scrolls and foliage. Above the dial is a motif of flaming torché and quiver of arrows. The front is delicately fretted to allow a glimpse of the pendulum gently swinging within.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with a gilt bronze center. It is complete with its original finely cut and blued steel hands and convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.
Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link or paste the following into your browser: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=799905038736568

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with some wear in places and some tarnish and discolouration. The dial is also excellent with very slight chipping to the winding holes and to the edge near the 9 o'clock. There are some faint hair lines.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
