George James Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The cover is a joy to behold, with more leaf design, and a wonderful "cabbage" knop. Britannia silver is of purer quality than standard Sterling, being 950/1000 against 925/1000 for Sterling. This is a marvellous piece of silver, by one of the great manufacturers of the time.
