We are delighted to offer this magnificent antique French silver vermeil teaspoon set made in Paris c.1845 with the marks of Philippe Berthier (1841-1851).
The cutlery set exudes opulence and splendour with its fully silver gilt/ vermeil (gold on top of solid silver) design which certainly is captivating whether on display or in use.
In addition to its regal tone, the set presents a wonderful French flatware pattern with vine decorations along the sides with accents of grapes. The sugar tongs are particularly ornate and delightful with lion feet design, contributing to its overall majesticness.
The set consists of 7 spoons, a sugar tong and a strainer. Owing to its gilding which protects the silver from tarnishing, this set may be perfect not only as interior decor but to use practically and enjoy an opulent afternoon tea in the most indulging manner.
Overall an exquisite mid-19th c. French silver set with flair and elegance, ideal for elevating the splendour of any interior or setting.
Each piece is marked with French hallmarks, the maker''s marks and Minerva mark.

Good Condition - The set is in overall good antique condition, however, one spoon has a repair to its stem and another has split on either side and is weakened (as photographed in the last image). The set will come in its original box, however, the box is in poor condition and missing several spoons etc. Otherwise in good condition with minimal gilding loss and wear commensurate with age.
We aim to overemphasize and state these issues (if any) to avoid disappointment and thus please rest assured they are not significant nor affect the usage of the items.
