A beautiful Japanese Meiji period bronze okimono of a rat clutching a patinated chestnut in his front paws, rats in Japanese culture are associated with Daikoku the god of wealth and are considered a symbol of riches and plentiful harvests. This charming bronze okimono is in excellent condition and measures 4 inches in length.
