A rare Victorian Scottish silver trick vesta case. The case opens by pressing the base along the edge of the striking plate. The inside is gilded which has worn due to a chemical reaction to the vestas. The base and top are both marked inside Edinburgh 1894 Brook & Son. The top is decorated with a family crest for the Clan Bannantyne motto Nec Cito Nec Tarde - Neither fast or slow. Condition is commensurate with age and use.
