An exceptional condition original chest of drawers.
This tall chest of drawers features the finest cuban flame grain book-matched Mahogany to the drawer fronts complete with all its original cock-beading (none missing) with typical Victorian turned Mahogany knobs. This simple yet elegant chest of drawers is in an outstanding condition featuring its original beautiful French polished finish with a lovely rich Mahogany colour. The finely dovetailed Mahogany front drawers are fruitwood lined with its original paper lining to most of the drawers. This chest of drawers is in exceptional condition, the drawers are smoothly operating and are clean inside considering age. This simple yet elegant chest stands proudly on its lovely acorn turned legs.
The chest has been restored in our workshop so is solid with no loose joints or wobbles and is free from woodworm. The drawers have had some of the drawer runners replaced and rebuilt as necessary so now have little to no wear and do not drop when opened. The chest of drawers has been carefully revived, cleaned and waxed, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen. This lovely restored chest of drawers is ready for a new home and good for many more years to come.
Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
