When I discovered these sketches of ballerinas by the French artist, Jean Target (1910 - 1997), I felt they were full of spontaneity and life. The first sketch of the ballerina with her arms outstretched, reminded me of the wonderful linocuts of Sybil Andrews. They appear to be from the artist''s sketchbook and executed in crayon and charcoal. Each has been signed and two carry notation of the ballet in question. They are being sold as unframed works on paper, however, we will happily discuss and undertake the framing of these lovely sketches if so desired. Measurements - dancer with her arms outstretched 24.5 cm x 31.5 cm / the two sketches of the ballet dancers on points 32 cm x 25 cm.
