Waring & Gillows labelled, ''By Appointment to The King'', set of eight upholstered, mahogany framed, dining chairs, Circa 1905. The set consists of 6 chairs and 2 carver armchairs.
 
These chairs in Queen Anne, late c.17th style, constructed from solid, high quality mahogany, feature a solid vasiform splat back. Drop in seats covered in pale duck egg blue and gold coloured damask. The carver with open, shaped arms with scroll terminals. Raised on cabriole front legs with carved shell knees, with squared splayed rear legs, all supported by turned H-stretchers.
 
Each chair complete with its original brass tablet shaped label, Waring & Gillows, by appointment to the king.
 
A very high quality set of handsome chairs. In very good condition. Cleaned, waxed and reupholstered, and now very much ready for use.
 
Dimensions:
 
These chairs measure approximately 99 cm (39'') tall, 54.5 cm (21.5'') wide, and 54.5 cm (21.5'') deep. The seat height is approximately 48 cm (19''). The carvers measure approximately 108 cm (42.5'') tall, 64 cm (25'') wide, and 56.5 cm (22'') deep. The seat height is approximately 52 cm (20.5'').

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - These chairs are in a very good condition commensurate with their age, and are structurally very sound and sturdy. There are some minor marks, blemishes and wear on the frames. No loose joints. A couple of very minor, small and high quality repairs. The frames have good colour and polish throughout. Reupholstered in traditional manner. Very sturdy and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
