A late C19th, mahogany, deep button hand-dyed leather hide Captains desk or tub armchair, from Victorian period. This armchair with deep button continuous back, upholstered in hand-dyed green/brown coloured leather hide, finished with nailed antique brass tack trim. Raised on ring turned front legs on brass cup castors, and splayed rear legs with brass castors.
 
A beautiful Captains armchair, ideal for desk or in a study. Traditionally reupholstered and in excellent condition.

This armchair measures approximately 64.5 cm (25.25'') tall, 62.5 cm (24.5'') wide, and 66 cm (26'') deep. The seat height is approximately 46.5 cm (18.25'').

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This armchair is in a very good condition commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. Recently reupholstered in the traditional method. The leather is hand-dyed and as such shows all the character, natural marks and blemishes on the hide. Minor marks, blemishes on the legs, but with good colour polish and patina. Very serviceable and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
