Antique Silver Churchill Chain and Fob

Description

Antique silver Churchill chain and fob.

This style of chain was often worn by Winston Churchill so has become known as the Churchill chain.

The chain measures 35cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar is hallmarked for Birmingham 1884. Each of the links on the chain have the lion silver mark. The clasp is a little earlier in date, hallmarked for 1880.

Also included is a silver fob (possible originally gilded). There is no date mark but there is a maker’s mark for Denton & Down who registered marks at the beginning of the 20th Century.

Total weight 43g.
