Set Of 8 Arts & Crafts Oak Dining Chairs

£1,500    $1,873    €1,796
A set of eight Arts & Crafts oak dining chairs dating to circa 1890. Comprising two carver armchairs and six side chairs, with pierced tree shaped decoration to the headrests and vase shaped back splats, on square tapering legs joined by H and additional back stretchers, the armchairs with wide curved arm rests and raised on brass castors, the seats covered with red leather on the side chairs and reddish tan rexine to the armchairs.

The frames in good solid condition with original colour, marks and rubbing as should be expected from age and use, two of the seats on the side chairs do have dent lines and paint spots, the armchair seats also have some marks and all have plenty of wear left in them if desired, overall a good quality set of sturdy Arts & Crafts chairs with design similarities to the well known names of Shapland & Petter, Wyllie & Lochhead and Liberty''s.
