This is a very fine and rare early 19th-century Regency period brass inlaid mahogany 8-Day Fusee Bracket Timepiece Clock by:
 
William Whitaker of Camberwell, London (Fl 1820-1850).
 
This exceptional quality timepiece is in perfect working order as it has recently undergone a complete full-professional service of the 8-day Fusee movement at a cost of £850.
 
The piece has a wonderful figured mahogany scroll-carved clock case with intricate and conforming scrolled brass inlay.
 
The immaculate circular 6'''' clock dial with hand-painted Roman numerals with elegant Gothic-inspired cast metal hands.

With a bevel-glass & brass window surround that opens by a working key, and retaining the original brass pendulum, incorporating a clever travelling feature that locks the pendulum in place with a brass locking nut.
 
The rear of the timepiece has an exhibition display window, revealing once opened the fully-serviced brass Fusee movement.
 
The whole of which terminates in four original bun feet.
