From Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.
Beautifully constructed in black clay, smooth burnished surface,
and has a smiling mouth filled with teeth.
Dogs are a symbol of Pre-Columbian art, they were close to humans, and were believed to have divine powers, to assist the dead in their journey to the underworld.
