Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The globe is fully articulated, with a support framework and swivel points in silver facilitating free movement. To the top is a wick holder which is removable for replacing the oil/spirit and taper. The lighter is usefully designed to allow dissembling for cleaning, as seen the in photographs. A wonderful piece, being collectable, usable and decorative. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. A very small area of 'flattening' to the edge of the base, only mentioned for accuracy and commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Full marks to the base, part marks to the frame and wick holder. Base marks rubbed, but readable with a good eye glass.
