A finely modelled Minton porcelain figure of a young girl as Summer, holding a sheaf of wheat under her arm and stood beside a tall basket, likely for matches with the texture of the basket used as a striker, but it could have equally been used to decorate tables with flowers. The figure and base are white glazed with the basket a striking bubblegum pink, matching band around the base and a sweet little purse she has slung across her body on a strap. Unmarked, c.1870.
It measures 16.5cm (6 1/2'') high and 10.7cm (4 1/4'') wide by 7cm (2 3/4'') deep.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear. There is a small firing fault under her left arm.
