Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The fall has a beautifully figured front with applied carvings and drops down on brass arms to reveal a writing surface and fitted interior with pigeon holes and three small drawers. The drawers lock and it comes with a key. A good quality bureau, with beautifully figured quarter swan oak with good colour and patina.
