Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

American sterling silver flatware gained widespread popularity during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as silver manufacturing expanded. Companies like International Silver Co produced extensive patterns influenced by European movements including Rococo Revival and Neoclassicism.

Forks are typically constructed entirely from sterling silver containing 92.5 percent pure silver. Knives often feature hollow sterling silver handles fitted with durable stainless steel or plated steel blades to maintain a sharp cutting edge.

Authentic pieces are stamped with the word STERLING or the numerical mark 925 on the handle or neck. They frequently display maker marks, such as the stamped hallmark or name of the International Silver Co.

Vintage silver flatware can be styled on formal dining tables paired with crisp linen napkins and neutral ceramic dinnerware. Displaying sets in glass cabinetry or velvet-lined boxes also adds texture to modern sideboards.

Clean silver flatware by hand using warm water and mild soap, drying immediately with a soft cloth to avoid water spots. Use specialized silver polish or cream periodically to remove tarnish and maintain the metallic lustre.
