A Flight Barr And Barr Worcester Porcelain Japan Pattern Trio C.1815
£495 $652 €591
A Flight Barr and Barr Worcester Porcelain Trio c.1815-1820. Finely decorated with a bold Japan pattern.
This popular pattern dates from c.1810 and was inspired by Japanese Imari wares and porcelain produced by Meissen. Flight & Barr made this luxuriant and exotic design with brightly painted enamels and lavish and brilliant gilding. This pattern consists of a mix of Japanese Imari-inspired bright flowers, trees, birds, rocks, stars, a bridge, a pagoda and a fence in wonderfully clashing colours, beautifully painted and gilded with bold strokes. The panels are separated by dividing panels with ''mons'', the stylised Japanese chrysanthemum flowers that symbolise prosperity.
