A stunning original antique French boudoir clock by the renown maker Japy Frères.
The Porcelain is decorated with a pompadour rose pink background, the panel below the dial is delicately painted with cherubs.

The porcelain dial shows a lovely depiction of cupid as a cherub with his arrow. Above the dial is a porcelain urn, delicately painted with a floral swag and mounted with ormolu handles and a pineapple finial. The rear door is glazed with convex glass to allow the movement to be seen. Please note that this style of clock does not have a glazed bezel over the dial.

The French movement is of high quality and is by Japy Frères. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link or paste the following into your browser:

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with some slight wear, discolouration and tarnish. Porcelain is also in excellent condition with some very occasional and slight wear to the over-glaze gilt decoration. Some of the half hour jewel marks on the dial missing.
