An Antique Milners Luxury Safe in a stunning fully restored condition.
The Milners safes were some of the best in its class and at one stage regarded to be one of the largest safe manufacturers in the world. The Milners name still continues today as Chatwood-Milners under the Chubb group brand since 1958.
This bespoke luxury safe has been re-painted inside and out using colours to closely match the original specification of the safe. The safe has been fully restored from bare metal, having been stripped and linished to ensure the highest quality refurbishment possible. The safe is painted in burgundy and black featuring black exterior bands which are complete with coach lines around the frame. The stunning ornately painted door is framed with black with burgundy to the centre door panel, embellished with skilfully painted gold leaf effect pinstripes and floral corner drawings. The inside is finished in a cream coloured paint exactly as it would have been originally, maintaining the original Milners Safe Co Ltd Logo on the back of the door. The safe has then been carefully polished and waxed to protect the paintwork and give a beautiful high gloss sheen, all of the brasswork has then been highly polished.
This impressive safe features the original Milners cast solid brass polished plaque. The fantastic original solid polished brass handle reminds us of a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is solid and has a satisfying latching action in a smoothly working order. The external lock and locking mechanism has been fully serviced and is working smoothly with 2 keys, the keyhole escutcheon has a lovely covering brass cast lid with "MILNERS' SAFE POWDERPROOF SOLID LOCK LIVERPOOL & LONDON" which ensures security.
To match the paintwork theme our upholstery department has made high quality burgundy full grain leather removable liner to the inside to keep your valuables and the safe itself protected from scratches or damage when items are stored inside. We have also included an automatic LED light inside the safe which comes on when the door is opened or detects movement. The light is easily removed, has a long life Li-ion battery and is charged simply via USB.
This safe is ideal for a commercial or home office setting for storing important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash or even jewellery and is obviously very safe, powder and theft-proof.
This safe would look fabulous in a loft style apartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talking point for guests.
Please note; This item is in excellent condition for its age but will obviously have the odd blemish and scuff here and there, however, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique. We recommend protecting your flooring underneath this safe as the safe will be dirty on the bottom and could damage surfaces because of the large weight.
