Georgian Mahogany Linen Press

18th century
Description

A Georgian mahogany linen press, circa 1800, the stepped cornice of unusual design, over a pair of flame-mahogany panel doors with moulded detailing and central brass strip, the interior with two pull out trays, the base with two short over two long drawers and raised on splay bracket feet. The trays and drawers with Colefax & Fowler fabric covered drawer liners.

The pair of panel doors have brass hooks attached to hold the doors open as the top half was previously used as a television cabinet.

NB: From the estate of Mrs Henry T. Ford II from Turville Grange, decorated by Colefax & Fowler.
