Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A very good example of a pearlware figure of ''Charity'' painted with underglaze decoration of blue and brown....the palette was limited to colours derived from metal oxides which would withstand the heat of the glaze firing.....the figure shows the classical influence of the time....in good condition with minor restoration to the arm of the little boy and the top of the cross.

English - Staffordshire. C1780-C1800.
