This vintage painting is now in very good condition. It wants for nothing and is supplied ready to hang and display.The painting is signed lower left.A later dedication to �Louise� dated April 1942 in the artist�s hand is set around the earlier signing.Raymond Moritz was a French impressionist artist and illustrator. His family came from the Alsace region, although he was born in Paris. He fought in the Great War and was mentioned in dispatches. Moritz was a compassionate and brave man; he hid a Jewish doctor from 1942-44 and shielded him from deportation. He later adopted the two young daughters of a friend who had died. Moritz produced some wonderful landscape and portrait paintings, and also some large frescos in public and religious buildings. He also created illustrations for various well-known publications.
