Description

A stunning 2nd Empire French cast iron folding daybed. It has well cast scrolled sides, with trailing flowers and leaves, a decorative front including a female face to the centre. Its well shaped legs terminate in castors and we have had a 20 centimetre mattress made for it. The fact it folds makes it very easy to store if not in permanent use. It is stamped Moussel (?) and has an overall warm bronze patina and colour.

(Measurements given are the maximum, height to top of sides, but height to bed area is 32 cm without mattress. The Mattress measures 20cm high 178 wide 86 deep.)
