A sweet antique Victorian forget me not locket fashioned in smooth 15ct yellow gold. A beautiful high-relief spray stands out from the centre, consisting of curled ivy leaves and a forget me not with a pink ruby in the centre, surrounded by five turquoise petals. Turquoise has long been associated with the Forget me not due to their similar sky-blue colouring. In the 19th Century it was given as a token of eternal love and remembrance and was often paired with ivy leaves which similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme �Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee�. It�s a beautiful antique treasure with a lovely sentiment attached. It dates to the late 19th Century and is complete with rims and windows within ready to house two beloved photographs or a lock of hair.
