LARGE STUNNING 19TH-CENTURY NORFOLK MARINE SEASCAPE OIL PAINTING By John Bale
 
Brief Description:
 
This is a large stunning late 19th century Norfolk Marinescape Oil on Board Painting which is one of a matching pair that we are selling individually.
 
The tall beautifully framed piece was painted by the Royal Academy Listed and Norfolk artist John Edward Bale (1834-1913).
 
Bale was also a Captain of the Army during the army''s tour of West Africa - please see the web for more info.
 
The painting portrays a Victorian barge and other vessels that are moored on a floating jetty.
 
The colours of the work are something to behold and it is signed by the artist lower right.
 
It is believed that this is an area surrounding Norfolk.
 
The original painting is mounted within the truly outstanding quality large period gilt frame that retains the original Victorian glass protective panel.
 
Indeed, it is a formidable-looking painting when hung and one will one pleased to know that it is free from any previous repair or restoration.
