Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The entire piece is mounted in a black wooden frame. The portrait is carved with great detail and realism, showcasing the skill of a true master.

I have not been able to find any comparable pieces on the antique market. Carving a realistic portrait from mother-of-pearl is an incredibly challenging task, far more difficult than using paints. This is a unique miniature, and I believe it was originally housed in a different frame.

Dimensions: The frame measures 10cm x 12.5cm, while the portrait itself is 6.5cm x 5.2cm.
Condition: The frame shows scratches and paint scuffs consistent with its age. The mother-of-pearl portrait itself is in immaculate condition.
