A superior solid silver box, nicely sized for a pocket (5.5 cm x 5.5 cm). The box has lovely plain polished silver surfaces with a slight convex shape which enhances the appearance. There is no engraving or embossing, just perfect classic styling.
The hinge at the back of the box is completely flush. When opened the box reveals a lovely deep gold gilt interior. A first rate silver box and in lovely condition.
Hallmarks are visible inside for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark 1938, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver as well as the maker''s mark for renowned silversmiths: Walker & Hall.
