Extremely Rare Solid 18ct Gold Omega "Top Hat" Art Deco Gents Watch C1948

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a remarkable unrestored example the very rare Omega Model reference 3913 Art Deco from 1948 also know as the Omega "Top Hat"

Probably the most desireable of all Omega dress watches.

The only work we have carried out is to service the movement, replace the glass and give the case a light polish.

The curved solid 18ct gold case is 26mm by 35mm excluding the original crown, a full size gents.

The movement is Omega calibre R17.8 which is quite rare and very high quality this was Omegas highest grade movement of this period. It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 10 seconds per day , not bad for a 75 year old watch.

The Art deco dial is totally original with just a few marks to show its age.

The 18ct gold case is very unusual with a slight curve to follow the contour of the wrist, the curved glass also follows the contour of the case.

Its the most original example you will ever see.

As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.

A stunning and rare collectors piece.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
