This is a Georgian, English, mixed twist wine glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1760.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 270 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a rounded funnel-shaped bowl measuring 5.3 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a mixed twist stem consisting of a white enamel cord and an air cable spiralling around each other. The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6.6 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.2 cm (6.1 inches) in height. There is a tiny unburst bubble in the metal of the bowl and some light scratching to the inside of the bowl. There are no chips, cracks, other significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
English lead glass weighing in at 130 g. (~ 4 1/2 oz.).
