Description

This set of four antique harness / tack racks which date from c1890 are embossed to the undersides with the maker's details for top manufacturer Musgrave & Co Ltd of Belfast and London.

These excellent quality wall mounted racks are made of cast iron with polished fruitwood mounts and have a stunning decorative look.

Musgrave & Co were a high quality manufacturer who supplied, fitted out and furnished the best stable yards and top properties at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century.

These included many members of the aristocracy of the UK and Europe including the Empress Frederisk of Germany, HM the King of Spain as well as cattle barons of South America.

A wonderfully decorative antique set in fabulous condition that are usable and would make a wonderful looking stable accessories. Could nowadays be used as clothes racks and would also make very nice shop window displays.

We are selling these as a set of four but we can split.

Two are marked with Musgrave & Co Ltd. Belfast and London. The other 2 marked with Musgraves Patent Belfast.

Approx dimensions:

Two are - Width: 33 cm (12 1/2"). Depth: 18.5 cm (7 1/4"). Height including metal bracket: 16.5 cm (6 1/2").

Two are - Width: 21 cm (8 1/4"). Depth: 34 cm (13 1/4"). Height including metal bracket: 18.5 cm (7 1/43").

Total weight: 8.57 kg.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some nibbles and wear. A great patina.
