Rare 1910 Walker & Hall Hallmarked Solid Silver Nurses Belt Buckle Boxed

Rare top quality hallmarked solid silver nurses belt buckle with a unique mechanism.
 
Made by Walker & Hall and assayed in Sheffield with the date letter for 1910.
 
In it''s original fitted box the condition is as good as new, it doesn''t look to have been used.
 
Geometric style shape with a circular centre and bars to the outside, the centre one would have been used to stitch on the belt.
 
Instead of the usual hook and loop to the back this has an unusual twist and lock mechanism that we haven''t seen before. Stamped to the back with the patent number 8883.
 
Measures 3 1/16 inches 7.8 cm wide and 2 inches 5 cm tall.
 
The silver weight is 38 grams.
 
The box is a work of art in itself with the inner cushion matching the shape of the buckle perfectly.
 
Excellent condition, no damage or repairs to any part of the buckle.
 
Will be delivered in a tissue lined gift box.
