Large oversize Malacca and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane.
The pommel to the top is silver, stamped with the Birmingham assay office mark and the date letter for 1918 and the makers mark for Jones & Co.
Plain silver mushroom pommel above the shaft which is Malacca which is a fibrous wood and is strong enough to support a good weight. This on is oversized and so will support a substantial weight. Natural staining to the wood as shown in the pictures.
The ferrule is original and made of black buffalo horn.
It measures 91 cm 35 13/16 inches in length, the pommel is 4.1 cm 1 11/16 inches wide. A large pommel which is comfortable to hold and lean on.
It''s in very good condition for it''s age but with some signs of age and use as you''d expect.
The silver surface marks and dinks as shown in the pictures but with no splits or holes as you can see.
Other than dinks in the silver there are no damaged areas or repairs to any part of the cane.
Perfect for an every day cane.
