A very fine brooch crafted in 18 ct. gold in the form of a flying eagle clutching a large pearl.
The bird is matt enamelled in shades of gold, brown and blue-green and the leading edges of the wings are set with small diamonds, with an even tinier one forming the eye.
With its head turned to one side and tail fanned out behind the pearl, this is a great example of the jewellery maker''s skill and expertise.
Circa 1930''s and we believe to be French in origin although there is a possibility that it might be American.
The wingspan is 5.5 cms.
